When it comes to 4x4 recovery, bow shackles are a must-haveand honestly, you can never have too many. These tough little units are what keep everything connected, whether its a recovery strap, tree trunk protector, winch extension, or snatch block.
The 3.25T bow shackles with a 16mm pin are built strong, W.L.L. compliant with AS/NZS 2741.2002, and ready to handle serious off-road recoveries. Plus, the high-visibility finish makes them easy to spot in the mud or dust so youre never fumbling around when it counts.
Key Features:
TIP: To avoid seizing the screw pin, its always a good idea to back off about 1/2 to 1 turn after fully hand tightening. Shackle pins can seize due to the force exerted during recovery operations.
Before use: Inspect shackles before and after use for any damage. If pins are hard to turn or the shackle has been overstressed, it should be immediately replaced.
Caution: Shackles can become a lethal missile if something should break or fail during a recovery. Ensure that all spectators are well clear and all recovery lines have a dampening blanket on them (Refer page 41). Never load a shackle across its width because the load will be imposed on the threads. The force must be at right angles to the pin.
